About:Guilin Travel

I will be visiting Guilin with my family in Mid-May 2009. We are planning on a biking tour. What type of topography is in Guilin; are there many hills? There are several 1/2 day bike tours -- are they recommended for people in their 60's or are they too strenuous.

Bike tour in Guilin is a good idea because the topography is very flat in the city.And most citizens are strveous and kind .I am a teacher in Guilin city.I want to do more practise in my oral english,so if you have more question about Guilin tour,you can write E-mail to <span class="clspost">126.com.I|yule6579</span> am glad to answer you question.

to supplement:there are many hills in Guilin city,but most of them are small hills.So nearly all of the city roads and the majority of the countryside roads are plat and fit for bike tour.

If you like bike tour, can visit Yangshuo, it has many bike service. If climbing, Yangshuo also has one hill named Moon Hill, professional for climbing.

Hi good evening. I was just backed from 6 days Guilin trip today (30/04/2009).

To travel economically in Guilin I will suggest you to take a bus to Guilin City from the Airport which will only cost you RMB20 /pax.

Guilin City is a typical city area and the traffic is heavy hence biking tour is not recommended. Public Transport is very convenient in Guilin City. You may take a bus (Guan Guang No.1 at RMB 2 with air-conditional) in Railway Station's Bus Station. This bus is specially for travellers and it will pass through all the View Points around the Guilin City.

Biking Tour is only recommended in Yangshou which is about 85KM from Guilin City. You may take the bus to Yangshou at RMB 15 (it will cost you RMB 300 from Airport to Yangshou). The buses to Yangshou will depart every 10 min from Guilin Bus Station.

There are several bicycles for you to choice i.e normal typical, sporty, and with an engine. Topography is generally flat.
