If you take the camera, vidicon, laptop or other stuff for personal use with a total price of more than 5,000 Chinese yuan, you should declare the Customs. The currency exchange rate is 1 dollar = about 6.84 Chinese yuan. So, I think you will pay for your camera. Usually, the duty is 20% of your total price. Here I have a suggestion. If you come to China with several friends of yours, you can dispense these stuff to them. In this way, you may not need to pay.

I paid about $1500 US for my laptop about 2 years ago. Since it's probably only worth $600 now, do I still have to pay duty on it? $180?
