About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

We are American citizens living and working in Nagoya, Japan. We are are planning to travel to China this summer. When we contacted the local consulate in Nagoya asking for information if I as the husband and father could apply for visas for my children and wife or if all of us needed to come to the consulate, the person was very rude. She told us to use our Japanese travel agency and that they handle all visa applications. We told her that we are not using a Japanese travel agency and we are not Japanese citizens. Please advise on what we are to do.

Generally speaking, applicants can entrust other agencies or others to apply for China visa on their behalf. Well, they just accept applications from travel agencies. I think you are still eligible to join a japanese tour group despite that you are not Japanese citizens.
