About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

I was interested in going to Lhasa in June. Can I go independently or do I have to book everything through a tour operator? How long does it take to acquire a Visa? What kind of restrictions will there be if any? I have inquired about travel to Tibet through tour agencies here in Korea and they have all replied saying that travel to that region is closed. Please inform?

It is almost impossible for you to visit Tibet as an individual tourist. As far as I know, you should apply for a Tibet Travel Permit issued from the Tibet Tourist Bureau, and generally the permit is only issued to group visitors of foreign nationality.

It wouldn't be just me, it would be myself and a Canadian.

At least 5-6 members can constitute a tour group.
