About:Meizhou Travel

I am thinking of conducting some research on Hakka people (I am one of them). In order to limit the scope of my work and keep it manageable, I would like first to start work on the history of Meizhou City the heartland of the Hakka people. Any idea where I can get the material for research and is there anyone interested in collaborating on this project?

Hi Robert, I too have keen interest in researching more about Hakka history starting from my own Lee family in moi yan (Meizhou). Although I'm was born overseas, I can still speak decent hakka..proud to say! If all goes well I hope to join my mom and 3 other siblings currently visiting in Moi Yan. Through my mom (who is 80 yrs) I like to get to know some of my relatives especially the other generations who I'm sure has plenty of stories from the cultural revolution days!

Hi Robert, I am just beginning my own quest tracing my ancestry. My family name is BONG and I know I am a Hopoh. I migrated to Australia almost 26 years ago and have almost forgotten Hakka completely. I came across your posting on the internet and just curious to know where your search have led you. I would be wonderful to get some update from you if you are in a position to share. I can be contacted at gmail.com|philip.boon. Philip
