About:China Embassy in Thailand

Apply China visa from Chinese embassy in Bangkok.

Hello! I am a Finnish citizen and would request a double entry Chinese visa possibly from embassy in Bangkok. My plan is to travel by land from Thailand to Laos and up to China. Is it easier and possible to get the visa ready in Bangkok and then cross the border by land? do I need to have some recommendations etc. for the tourist visa application?

It is okay to get the visa in Bangkok. You don't have to have a recommendation.

I am also interested to travel from BKK to Kunming in China, through Laos. It would be interesting.
