hello travelers,my wifei are traveling from the usa to bangkok during late june

Hello travelers,My wife and I are traveling from the USA to Bangkok during late June 2009 with a 9.5 hour layover (from 6:20am - 3:50pm)once we arrive at the Guangzhou airport.  We only speak English.  Please recommend something fun and close to the Guangzhou airport so as not to risk missing our 3:50pm flight to Bangkok.  Thank you for helping us, Norman

Seems nothing to do there:) You may found a bookstore in the airport or a business ceter with internet. The airport is far from the downtown area.

may be you can by the airport bus to downtown area(about 40 min) ,you can ask the imformation station to choose the way to downtown.don't worried about the language,many people can speak english in guangzhou.   another way to do in guangzhou you can chooes a restaurant to try. guangzhou is famous for its foods(cantonese food).   maybe you can change your flight to bangkok later and travl around guangzhou for few days.because everyday you can fly to bangkok from guangzhou.and guangzhou is very beautiful,welcome to guangzhou
