Yes, there is a small villege called HouGuo in Putian.
You are right. I grew up in putian city and been there long time ago. 3 years ago, I went back my dear home town after 20 years US busy life, i felt what i saw and where i been was a new place that i never been before since almost all the streets and buildings changed due to rapidly growing of economy. However, those beautiful mountains still there. they convinced me this is Putian. HouGuo still there, but I doubt LIM or TAN still living there, because people migrate a lots for past 20 years. I hope it won't be too late for my reply. I know the place 后郭as my sister in law's brother lives there. I understand there are quite a lot of Lim林 and Tan陈 stay there as my relative also with surname Tan陈. In fact, one of the previous minister of Malaysia Lim Ah Lek林亚礼 family was also from 后郭.

You may take a bus or cab from Putian City莆田市 towards 涵江or海口. You may just mention (half way to 涵江 right hand side of the main road) and they will stop at the main road (bus) whereby there are quite a lot of motorcyclists there waiting to bring you to the exact area of 后郭. I have been there quite a no. of time when I go back to my father's village in 华亭镇.
