About:China Embassy in Thailand

Chinese tourists will not pay for CNY 240 tourist visa fees in the following months, according to the Beijing-based office of the Thai Tourism Administration. The policy will be effective soon, and last at least four months.

You still need a visa but they won't charge fees for your application.
