Mongolians are the upper class. They enjoyed the privileges of politics, economy and law. The second class is Semu people, including Xixia People, Hui People, the people who lived in the western region and some Europeans residing in China. Their political status is a little lower than the Mongolians. The third class is Han People, including Qidan People, Nuzhen People and the Han People living in North China. The lowest class is the Southerners, including the Han People and many other ethnic groups who lived in South China.
