I believe a visa is needed for Singaporeans to visit China. Other than Hong Kong and Macao, visits to all parts of China require a visa. In some entry ports one can pay for one on the spot. But the rules and changed all the time so its safer to get a visa BEFORE any attempt to enter the country.
