No, I have never been to China. my father left China for the island of Mauritius, Indian ocean in 1900. My mother soon followed him. I left Mauritius for England then emigrated to Canada soon after my schooling in England. Both Dad and Mom passed away. I'm now retired: I wish to visit the place where my parents grew up China and meet my relatives I never met. I only understand and speak a bit of Hakka. I don't have their addresses in Quong Dong and I'm at a lost.
If you have the addresses,I'm pretty sure that once you arrive in Hong Kong, you can find out at the tourist Department.

Hi Mr. Andre:

My name is Myrna and I am trying to find out more about my grandfather whom arrived to Mexico around 1927. I am wondering if you find out about any registry or goverment department office where I can find out more and how to find relatives? I would really appreciate if you could help me. I never got a chance to meet my grandfather and would like to know more?

Sincerely,
Myrna DeWitt

Although I have not been able to find my ancestral address in Moyan, I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and believe that I should be able to find it before long.
Following my posting in here, a gentleman from Australia email me with the following helpful information: Contact The overseas Chinese AssistOffice or department (this department is called Chiaw Kung Sheer in chinese) at the nearest Chinese Consulate nearest to you. This department is set up to assist oversea chinese to locate relatives in China. Hope this would help. All the best.
