About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

I need a visa for a holiday in China. I live in Tamworth NSW (a long way from Sydney) and the Sydney consulate said they do not have a mail service. Do I send my application to you in the ACT?

Mr.Mark Giandomenico, New South Wales is under the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General of China in Sydney, so you need apply for visa in Sydney. otherwise, your visa application will be refused or delayed.

How can I apply through Sydney when they said that they do not offer a postal service. Postal service is offered by Melboune and Canberra. Do they think that all of NSW lives in Sydney?

I show my sympathy to you. However, we don't have the right to change it. You can ask your friends, relatives in Sydney to make the visa application on your behalf. Otherwise, you can entrust one visa agency or visa agency to do so.

I had to go through a travel agent ($50) but it doesn't seem right that they won't deal with people that don't live in Sydney. It doesn't encourage people to visit their country.
