Hello,my girlfriend is a Filipina maid in Hong Kong. The conditions are poor and I live in Shenzhen so we don't see each other much.Firstly, have or will the rules change to allow Filipina nannies to work in mainland China? There is clearly a demand for them.Secondly,is there anywhay she could stay with me for an extended period of time in Shenzhen or would we have to get married. I have a 2  year renewable work visa - would she be able to live with me here if we married? Would she also be allowed to work if she joined me here as my wife?

Mr.Hamish Dawson, I think the rules won't change in future because there are many Chinese women of Mailand China competing for the job of nanny. As far I know, if you two get married, she can also apply for Z visa. Then She can live with you. I'm not sure weather she will be allowed to work in mailand China. I guess that if she can find a job after living with you, then she can work. PS: Z Visa is issued to aliens who comes to China for employment and to the person's accompanying family members.
