About:Harbin Ice Festival

I plan to be in Harbin from 1 - 3 Jan 09, would someone recommend the best sites for me to cover during the period. I am traveling with two kiddos. Is it advisable to hire a driver to drive us around or it is safe to travel around just by grabbing a cab?

don't miss the Ice and Snow Sculptures!
And, other time should visit the city's streets, Russian buildings... So, no need to hire a cab. Taxi could be found everywhere..
