About:China Embassy in Thailand

I've got an official invitation letter for one year multiple entry visa F, I'm plannig to visit Thailand and while I'm there want to apply for visa, but on the invitation written that I can apply for a visa in my country, I'm from Russia. Does it mean that I must go back to Russia and apply for visa there? Or I can apply for visa in Bangkok? PS: Now I'm out of Russia
