First time visa application (F) or (M) visa

Hello,
I am applying for a first time to China for the purpose of either M or F. Can I apply for M or F type one for a single entry, 6 months? On the website it says applicant must submit copies of previous records and that M or F are for multiple entry. Or do I check 'multiple entry'? I do not have previous visas to submit.

Nicola, a single entry one is usually valid for three months. If you didn't visit China before, I am afraid that it will be very difficult for you to apply for a multiple type M or F. It's ok that you try to check "multiple" on the application form. However, the consular office finally decide whether you will be granted with a multiple one.
