About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Me and my husband are both US citizens and we are traveling to Australia. On our return to the U.S. we have a 10 hour layover in Beijing, will we need transit visas or any other visas so we can leave the airport?

If you leave the airport, you will need transit visa. however, I hear that the Beijing capital international airport has changed transit time for 48 hours, so I guess that for some aliens, going out of airport is allowed, you can call the airport to get an assuring answer.
