My father was born in Nan An (Fujian Province) at the turn of last century, my wife and I will be visiting HK/Macao in September. I would like to make a short visit to my father's birthplace during our stay in HK, Can anyone advise how we can travel by train/plane?

you can take direct flight from HK(Dragon Air)to Xiamen and take the bus from there to yr dest,or you can take the sleeper bus from GZ which is around RMB 200-300
