About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Claiming luggage

Hello,

My flight is LGW-PVG-BKK with Air China and the same PNR.
The transit time is about 14 hours, from 7AM to 9PM.

Do I need to claim my luggage in Shanghai when applying for the transit visa? What are general conditions when I need to claim the luggage and when I don't?

You will know for certain about this detail at check-in in London. Anyway, having in mind that you are traveling on a single (through) ticket, the flights of this type have a luggage tagged all the way to the final destination, in your case to Bangkok. This is the situation in 99% of all flights of this type. Anyway, you will ask for this at check-in in London where they will tell you exactly about this detail.
