Visa required for cruise port of call in Shenzhen

We are uk passport holders and are cruising from Singapore to Japan via Thailand and Vietnam with a 12hour port of call in Shenzhen (the only port of call in mainland China) before we cruise onto Hong Kong. Do we need entry permit for our stop in Shenzhen?

My apologies Shirley-just realised that Kai Tak is the berth in Hong Kong!! The cruise agent told me incorrectly! I am not sure where we berth in Shenzhen. But thank you for your response

Transit in Shenzhen is not allowed when traveling to Hong Kong so a visa is necessary
