About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

144 hour Visa and train journey question

We arrive Beijing on the 5th Jan at 7am and intend to leave on the G79 train to HK on the 8th January at 10.00am from Beijing West.

Is the 144 hour twov that we can get at the airport on arrival suitable and is this train a direct service ? It appears to take 8hrs58mins to West Kowloon station. Is this correct?
