Do we need to get a transit visa?

We're Philippine passport holders. We joined a cruise wherein our disembarkation will be in Shanghai on March 25,2018 and our flight going back to Manila will be on March 26 1:00 am. Do we need to get a transit visa? Can we explore for a while while waiting for our flight schedule?

Sorry i forgot to write the time of disembarkation is 7:30 a.m.March 25 and our flight is 1:00am March 26 the next day. There isn't 24 hours of staying in shanghai. Do we need to get one?

I suppose the last stop of your cruise is a third country? If so, you can enjoy the 24h visa free transit!
