About:Jinshanling Great Wall

Special tourist bus from Dongzhimen

Hi everybody!
I want to know if the special tourist bus from Dongzhimen is still working or you have to take the Wangjing West bus? I also read that you need to be registered somewhere if you want to be certain that you'll be able to walk through the Jinshanling section, is it true?

Juan, there is no tourist bus from Dongzhimen to the wall. You need to take the tourist bus that departs from Wangjing West Subway Station. You can take subway line 13 to reach Wangjing West, get out from Exit B and walk aroun 100 meters toward east to find the bus station. It departs from 08:00 and returns at 15:00.

Don't worry if you didn't catch the tourist bus. You can take the bus from there to Luan Ping and then get off at Jinshanling Highway Rest Area. There you can wait and take free shuttle bus to the wall.

I am afraid that you may not walk or hike from there to other sections. It's said that guards are deployed to stop people who plan to hike.

Hi, you say you can´t hike anymore. Cause I am planing the Gubeikou-Jinshanling hike in october. Won´t it be posible?

Matt, it's ok to hike between Gubeikou and Jinshanling section. However, you can not get from JSL to Simatai because an iron gate is equipped to stop tourists hiking to Simatai.
