About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Saigon - Guangzhou - London. 6hour layover uk national

I’m going to be travelling on a connecting flight from Vietnam to the UK with a 6 hour 50 minute layover in Guangzhou. As I hold a UK passport will I be okay to have this connecting flight / will I need to fill out a transit visa as I have heard they are not allowed for layovers less than 8 hours. I will not be leaving the airport. Thanks!

Joe, based on your itinerary, the place where you will have a change of planes and your intention to stay at the airport, you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Also, you do not need to fill out any form because you will not be a subject of immigration and/or customs control, but you will just shortly cross a security check between the gate of your arrival until the gate of your departure. In reality, it could not be easier and simpler than it is. Have a nice journey.
