About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hour visa

Hello,
I am arrive from Australia via KUL to Guangzhou and then via KUL to Singapore before heading back to Australia as I can't get a direct flight with the ticket i purchased is this still eligible for a 72hour visa

No, unfortunately this is not eligible for any kind of visa free transit scheme and if you retain the journey of this kind, you will have to obtain a Chinese visa in advance. The basic rule of visa free transit scheme clearly requires that the immediate points before and after your mainland Chinese destination have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories: Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). As you can see, your immediate points are in one country - Malaysia.

Also, in Guangzhou or better to say in the entire Guangdong province, where Guangzhou is located, there is 144 and not 72 hour visa free transit.
