Serge, you can use both passports if you intend to have a short layover of up to 24 hours in Chengdu. So, both passports are fine for 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa.

If you want to stay in Chengdu for more than 24 hours, but less than 144 hours, then you should use a Bulgarian passport because Bulgarian citizens have right to enjoy 144 hour visa free transit and they do not need a visa for such a stay.

Now, based on the length of your planned stay in Chengdu, you will use one of your available passports.
