macau to london via guangzhou (can) airport

USA passport holder.  Can I use the 24 hour TWOV to travel by bus or train from Macau to Guangzhou Airport (CAN), and then depart on the same day to London?

No, you cannot. The 24-hour visa-free transit is only eligible when you transfer in Guangzhou by a flight.

The reverse is OK for 24 hour TWOV?  Arrive Guangzhou Baiyun airport by air and same day leave Zhuhai for Macau?

Yes, it is okay to leave Zhuhai through Zhuhai Gongbei Port or Hengqin Port but you have to have the bus ticket even before you arrive at the Guangzhou Airport, then you can be allowed to use the 24-hour visa-free transit.
