Paying for things in shanghai

Hello
I’m going to shanghai very soon and I’m worried about how to effectively pay for things. I’m from london, I have the uk or English language versions of WeChat and Alipay, I have a debit card connected to both but conflicting info as to whether these (WeChat and Alipay with uk bank card already connected) will work for payment in stores and around town etc. will they work? Are there other, or better options? If anyone could advise me so I can be as prepared as possible for my trip I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Generally, there is no problem for you to use WeChat and Alipay. What's more, you can also use cash RMB in China.
