Hi -I will be visiting from US (US citizen) for about 2-3 weeks, mostly in Shenzhen.  What do I need to know about getting a visa?

You need to apply for a tourist visa in Chinese embassy or consulate in advance. Just prepare a valid passport, a completed visa application form and your travel itinerary documents including flight tickets and hotel reservation orders.
