About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

I live in Tasmania, There isn't a service center here.

Hi,
Ive never had a visa before so its a little confusing for me but, I live in Tasmania, does this mean I have to fly to Melbourne to have an appointment? and if so could I get everything done on the same day, fly in and out?
I dont understand why I cant just apply for the visa online.

Thanks in advance!

In fact, you can apply for your visa in Melbourne by post. However, the processing time may be a little longer than applying in person, generally for 10 working days if your documents are complete.

The visa center generally recommends to post by Australia Post Express Post. Office address: Ground Floor, 570 St. Kilda Road, Melbourne, VIC 3004, Australia

It is suggested to download the List of the Required Documents for Postal Application on the official website of the visa center: visaforchina.cn

This is not correct. You cannot apply by post.

They no longer accept postal applications, they only accept applications in person at the Visa Centre. This is so you can be fingerprinted.

There is no allowance made for where in Australia you might live or whether you can get to a capital city.

So you'll have to fly to Melbourne. You'll need to leave your passport with them and go back a second time to collect your passport.

You can't get it done the same day. It's four business days turnaround for the normal service, three for the express service (which costs more) if they are offering it.

You can confirm this by emailing them at melcentervisaforchina.org. Be scrupulously polite.

In fact, the post service is not accented in most visa centers, but I do find it is available in Melbourne Office Center's official website. Of course, confirming it with the visa center is the best way.
