I am a British citizen working in Qatar what paperwork do I need for a visa application? Do I need a no objection letter from my company?

Do you mean Family Reunion Visa? (Q visa) If yes, you don't need to any letter from your company but your resident permit in Qatar and an invitation letter from a family member residing in China.
