Clarification with regards to a Visa if coming from Ireland

I am an Irish National who has a friend who has family living in Ragouw, & she has asked me if I would like to visit her while she is there for 3 months. I would love to take this opportunity to visit China but am unclear with regards to a visa? I would be there staying with the family from 10 - 14 days doing day trips, your advice would be apprciated!
Regards

Where is this Ragouw? I suppose it's in China. If so, when applying for China tourist visa, you can submit an invitation letter from your friend, instead of flight and hotel bookings.
