About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Australian Citizen visiting chinese girlfriend in mainland china

I work remotely and I would like to live with my girlfriend who resides in mainland China. How possible is this and what is the maximum length of stay?

If you are not married yet, you will have no relationship with her in term of laws, so I'm afraid you cannot obtain a long-term visa depending on her. In your case, you may only qualify for a tourist visa, which usually allows a stay up to 30 days; but you can extend it for a few more days before it expires.
