My JW202 has my expired passport number, can I use to to apply for visa for my renewed passport?

Dear Embassy Officials,

My name is Soddique from Takoradi.

I am a second year student of Anhui University of Science and Technology, I am planning to go to campus next month to continue my studies after haven studies over a year online.

My University sent me the JW202, unfortunately they used my expired passport number to fill (the one I used during the admission application in 2021)

But I have a new passport now (renewed) but the school says the process of securing the JW202 is tedious so it will take longer to get another one hence delay my ability to go next month and they will be on vacation afterwards to I will not be able to go anymore. I have to go because I used China for my research case study, so I need to collect data.

I want to respectfully ask if I can provide the two passport to indicate that the passport number indicated on the JW202 (whiz has expired) is mine and request that the visa issued into the renewed passport?
