We are planning an 8 day cruise from Shanghai to Japan and back to Shanghai in March 2020. No other stops in China. (RCCL on Mar 5, 2020)We will spend 1 night in Shanghai before the cruise and 4 nights in Shanghai after the cruise.My wife has a 10 year visa from 3 years ago in a US passport that was lost.  Her US passport has been replaced.Thank you.

Both of you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai twice, so your wife's lost passport with a visa will not make you any damage.Just to add one condition, so that you are perfectly confirmed as eligible for 144 hour visa free transit:- Both of your flights, to and from Shanghai, are not allowed to have any additional landing within mainland China and in Japan of any kind.
