Cruise ship stop in Xiamen in February 2020

We are United States citizens. Our cruise ship leaves Hong Kong on February 2, 2020, arrives in Xiamen at 800am on Feb 3, 2020 and departs at 600pm the same day (10 hour stop) bound for the Philippines after one day at sea.

1. This appears to qualify for the 144hr visa waiver based on the Hong Kong, Xiamen, Philippines... Is this correct?

2. How does the immigrations process work at the Xiamen Cruise Ship port? Do I need passport size pictures to provide to the immigrations authorities?

Thanks you

1. Yes, you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.
2. Your passport with at least three months left; a cruise ticket to a third country with confirmed seat and departure date within 144 hours; a visa to the third country if required and the Arrival Card for Temporary Entry.
