I have a flight from Lhasa to Thailand and layover to Kunming for 18hours.

Should I still go to immigration and take exit and check-in again for departure to final connecting destination?
Or when I arrive I'll transfer and proceed to next gate and Wait there for my next day flight...
Please let me know.
