If so, which number bus is it, price and time taken?Any other information about seeing the sights in Inner Mongolia independantly via public transport?

I am sorry that there is no direct bus service. You may take a bus to Ulan Hua (Wulanhua).The bus has no number. I remember that the buses are available from 5:30 to 17:00, and the trip takes about 2 hours. The fare is around CNY 30. Then, charer a car to the grassland for about CNY 100. You can go to see Populus Euphratica Forest in Ejina Banner. As I know, you can take a tourist train to Ejina Banner from Hohhot. The trains are avaialble from September 25th to October 16th during the Populus Euphratica Forest Festival. :)
