Child Visiting Family Friends in Shanghai

My 12 year old daughter (US Citizen) is going to visit our exchange student (Chinese Citizen) and her family in Shanghai and will be staying with them at their place. We have an invitation from the family, but do we need an official stamp? The family is not aware of what the stamp is.

As the inivitation is issued by an individual, no official stamp is required. A personal signature of the student's parents is fine.
