travel documents to Hong Kong and China

I live in Australia. Can I go into Hong Kong with Australian passport, then get on a cruise from Hong Kong to Beijing and use my HK Permanent ID Card (issued in 2007) and Reentry Permit 回乡证to enter mainland PRC without applying for a visa?

Australian passport holders can enjoy free entry to HK.
The re-entry permit is mainly used to return to HK. So if you want to visit the mainland PRC, you need to apply for the valid entry permit in advance.
