Question

i am planning to visit the mountain and Dujiangyan irrigation system. which hotel is good and cheaper for a couple? and which portion of the mount is better to visit? front or rear. and how to get to the mountain from the railway station.? and how to go to Duijiangyan dam from the mount and back. Thanks ?

First of all, I'd tell you that both front and rear of the mount are worthwhile: the former has more historial sites like temples and the latter is popular for natural scenery. You can consider hiking from the front and then take the cable car down. Take a shuttle bus to the rear within 20-30min. As the rear of the mount is close to Taian Ancient Town, you can find accommodation there, and the Anping Hotel is the best in the town. If time permits, hike the rear on the next morning. To the dam, you can take bus line 101A at the front of the mountain to reach there directly.
