Lounge access or Hotel at Beijing airport?

We are transiting through T3 to Auckland with Air China. We have a 9 1/2 hour layover from afternoon to midnight and are wondering what would be best to do in relation to either access one of the Lounges in T3 or booking into a hotel for few hours sleep etc near the airport. Do we need to apply for a visa? Any advice or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey, it is recommended to have a rest and take a shower in the hourly lounges in T3. It is easy to check in on the spot. No visa is needed in this case. But if you stay in a hotel outside the airport, you have to apply for a stay permit after landing. Then you will be allowed to get out.
