hello, i am a US citizen holding a US Passport with both work and residence permit for work in Shanghai. I recently traveled to the US but my passport was stolen. My flight leaves back to Shanghai in one week and the visa offices are closed. Will I have issues if I take my flight to China without the visa and then get it sorted there?

Joshua, you can apply for a new passport and enter with your passport and residence permit. The Z type is not necessary.
