is there a certain direction that a sliding window should slide open?

Question

I am building a new home for a couple and they have specified that we use all sliding windows. Should the opening panel be on the left or the right as looking from the inside of the house?  Or, should the window slide to a certain direction to open?

Mark, there is no special requirement in Fengshui Theories. You just need to ask them which direction they prefer.
