24 hour transit for South Africans? Do I need a visa?

I am from South Africa and flying to the USA via Hong Kong. I will be in transit and wish to visit Shenzhen for less than 24 hours.

Haroon, you may try to apply for the five-day special VOA for Shenzhen. If you can be granted with it, then you can visit Shenzhen during your transit. You should know that you might be refused to enter because the immigration officers have the final say.
