About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for the 72hr free transit or must I apply for an alternative travel visa?

Hi, I am travelling from Taipei directly to Shanghai and returning to Taipei approximately 48hrs later. Many thanks,
John

I forgot to mention that I am a British Passport holder, living in Taiwan with valid Taiwanese Resident Card (ARC).
Thanks,
John

John, sorry to tell you that your itinerary is not a valid transit and so you can't make use of the free transit polciy.
