Chinese Visa for American citizen visiting Buenos Aires

I am an American citizen visiting my daughter in Buenos Aires for 3 weeks on tourist entry permit, but need to renew my Chinese entry permit to re-enter China on my return from Buenos Aires. I would like to do this renewal at the Chinese consular office in BA while I am there. Is this possible?

When you talked about entry permit, did you mean resident permit or just a visa? Please specify this.

I need a multiple entry type (M) for China. I am not residing in Argentina, just visiting for 3 weeks. I wonder if I can get it at the Chinese embassy in Buenos Aires.
thanks

I think you can apply it by providing the valid entry permit for Argentina. However, you had better first confirm it with the embassy before submitting the application.
