Is it true that silk route is developing political significance in south East asia?

The silk route you mentioned is the silk road over sea, connecting China and many southeast Asia countries. The route increases the communications, international trade, and more between the countries along it, hence leading to the increase of communication between government. The governments along it can cooperate with each other to bring benefits to their people.
