as a british citizen do I need a visa for a stay in Hong Kong

I am traveling to Hong Kong and will be there for two days before going on a cruise of Asia.

You don't need one for Hong Kong. Actually, as you hold a UK passport, you can stay in Hong Kong for as long as 180 days without the entry permit.
